Tour de Force
The Tour de Force wrestling camp in Lafayette, Louisiana, is a specialized training camp that is designed to immerse athletes in a high-intensity environment focused on technical mastery and competitive growth. Directed by Coach Kerry Boumans, special guest clinicians; David Bonin (NCAA All-American, 3x Louisiana State Champ) and Bryce Boumans (NAIA All-American, NJCAA All-American, Illinois State Placer), the curriculum emphasizes fundamental wrestling knowledge and advanced strategic development, aiming to elevate a wrestler’s overall “mat IQ”. Participants can expect a structured experience that balances technical instruction with live wrestling scenarios to sharpen their performance for local and national competition levels.
CAMP DETAILS:
- Dates: Monday, June 29 – Thursday, July 2, 2026.
- Eligibility: Designed for wrestlers in the 14u age group and up.
- Location: University of Louisiana Lafayette Campus Ballroom Student Union, 620 McKinley St. Lafayette, LA 70503

For the past three years, Coach Gabe Reed has been immersed in the Boumans Wrestling Academy system, training directly under the philosophy and methodology developed by Coach Kerry Boumans—one of Louisiana’s most accomplished wrestling minds.
Gabe has grown into a technically sharp, detail‑oriented coach who understands how to build strong foundations in young wrestlers. His commitment to mastering the Boumans system and his ability to communicate complex skills in a simple, athlete‑friendly way have made him a natural fit to lead the BWA youth programs.

Our Other Wrestling Coaches
JACOB BOUMANS
Coach Jacob has over 15 years of wrestling experience. He participated on the Illinois national wrestling team 4 years and graduated from Neuqua Valley High School. In high school, he placed at the state tournament multiple times, taking 2nd his senior year. After high school coach Jacob wrestled at North Central College for one year. In 2020, he joined the Marine Corps. During his time in the in the Marines, he became a team leader for a machine gunner squad. He also competed in Jiu Jitsu, boasting an undefeated record of 76-0. Coach Jacob is now married to his wife Lexi, and is working for the Broussard Police Department.
BRYCE BOUMANS
Coach Bryce is attending Grandview University in Des Moines, Iowa, where he earned an NAIA All-American award. Bryce is a top 6 national finisher and a team captain. He attended Northwest Kansas Tech and was a 2x Junior College National Qualifier, Conference champion, first team Jayhawk All-Conference, and finished 4th in the National Tournament earning him Junior College All-American award. Bryce has an Associate of Applied Science degree in carpentry. He was an assistant coach at Northwest Kansas Technical College.
